“It’s time to wear my Party Hair!” Thea Wood’s zest for a great live music and empowering women has come together in the form of the Backstage Chats Foundation. And she’s celebrating!
As a journalist by education and profession since the 1990s, Thea’s professional experiences include the following activities:
- interviewing artists
- managing print publications
- launching the first Music Channel at America Online
- moderating celebrity online chats
- television appearances
- publishing an international digital magazine and e-book
- being the opening speaker for the first TEDx Talk at The University of Texas
Thea said it’s now time to “shift back and give back” to the music that has brought joy, healing, and grace to her life. By hosting the podcast “Backstage Chats With Women In Music” that features female music makers and their personal stories, Thea strives to create gender harmony in an industry she believes has the power to unite us all.
Kim B. Smith

Throughout a decades-spanning career of a myriad of job descriptions and industries, Kim Boudreau Smith has achieved success because she develops and pays attention to Her Bold Voice. Kim provides support and encouragement, coupled with strategy and tools, to help other women develop their own bold voice. Kim holds space for high level achievers to tune in, employ self-care, and set goals for how they want to show up in the world all through their voice.
Often referred to as a multi-media maven, Kim has experience on a multitude of platforms where she expresses Her Bold Voice. Performing as a dancer since she was seven helps Kim feel comfortable on an international stage while she shares her hard-won wisdom. Not only a former radio station owner and host of a weekly show to a global audience, Kim is a frequent guest on radio and podcasts all over the world. Kim has compiled and co-authored several books that have made their mark in the Amazon Best-seller arena. Through her fitness business, she also began recording videos long before it was popular.
Her training, coaching certification, and corporate experience are the winning trifecta for having Kim mentor high achievers to a better media presence and asserting their own bold voice.
Kim is real, raw and undoubtedly honest about the challenges of stepping into your bold voice.

Seth Schachner is the Managing Director of Strat Americas, a Los Angeles based consultancy that provides strategic guidance and helps clients with media and technology partnerships. Strat Americas has worked with clients in digital and social music, virtual reality, live entertainment, artificial intelligence, and enterprise software.
Seth is an experienced business development executive who spent eleven years with Sony music. During his time there, he held senior digital leadership roles in Latin America and for Sony’s Jive Records label in North America. At Sony Music Latin America, Seth created multi-million selling mobile handset partnerships for the artists Shakira and Ricky Martin.
Previously, Schachner held business development roles with Microsoft, Liberty Media, Viacom, and Universal Music.
Seth was one of AOL’s first business development executives, where he ran AOL’s very first music channel and oversaw AOL’s partnerships with the American music industry – including AOL’s first “official” digital music download.
A graduate of Columbia University in New York, Seth has also served as Chairman of Florida’s Film & Entertainment Advisory Council, which helped guide Florida on State film and entertainment growth strategies.
Eleanor Bennett is an independent podcast producer and radio journalist. Eleanor fell in love with the medium while interning at Aspen Public Radio. From there, she moved to New York where she covered issues of climate justice and women’s empowerment for SiriusXM Radio.
She recently finished a project interviewing hundreds of New Yorkers from all walks of life for the global photographer, JR. Her interviews will be utilized as part of an audio-visual installation going up in the Brooklyn Museum in Fall 2019.Her latest endeavor is “Questions I’ve Never Asked” – a new podcast about getting to know the interior life of her mother, Janie Jose land Bennett. The story begins with Janie’s childhood growing up on a cattle station alongside the Pitjantjatjara community in the remote Australian outback. As a young woman, Eleanor is determined to develop a new canon of work from the perspective of women from all walks of life. As the Production Manager for Backstage Chats, Eleanor is excited to be part of a team devoted to elevating the powerful voices of women in the music industry.
